Best Moving Day Ever!

Today was moving day...the day to get all the furniture and "big stuff" out of our little cottage here in Kerrville and into the storage unit. Curt and I started early, packing the last of the boxes, taking apart the bed, grouping furniture so that it would be easy for our favorite mover, Carlos, and his hard-working crew to come in and make short work of it.

We were even finished a little before 1:30, our projected start time. At 2:00 we called Carlos to find that he had been delayed by his morning job and wouldn't be able to move us today. It would have to be tomorrow...Sunday, a day which none of us wanted to work! Once we came to grips with the fact that that's just the way it is, we saw the real blessings in the new Plan B. We'll be able to start early in the morning when it's MUCH cooler in Central Texas. And there was nothing for us to do this afternoon but take naps and showers...and what an unexpected treat that was after weeks of packing and lifting heavy boxes! We even got a generous invitation to dinner tonight at Pete and Barb's, and enjoyed such sweet, relaxing fellowship along with a delicious meal. We are indeed blessed!

So tonight I feel like a kid again, camping outside in the driveway (since our bed is disassembled and the sheets are washed and packed.) We'll have our first exciting night of camping right here at home! I tried to take a photo, but it's too dark...so that will have to wait. And first thing tomorrow, rested and refreshed, we'll haul everything we can to storage, and then begin the final clean-up. We'll have our adventure yet!
